Imagine you are a fisherman living in 18th century Singapore. What can you do in order to deal with the attack of a formidable swordfish and the oppression of a tyrannical Sultan?
The little boy in our story has the answer to the problem. With his intelligence, the young hero caught the swordfish and helped the villagers escape the cruelties of the Sultan. But his wit in turn got him into deep trouble.
What has this got to do with “Redhill”, the name of a district in present day Singapore? To find out, join our actors and their adorable puppets in their quest of the swordfish. We promised you journey filled with action, intrigue, music, song and dance. The artistic director of Taiwan’s Song Song Song Children’s Theatre, Calvin Teng, is the mastermind and director of this exciting mission.
This play promises a night of fun and entertainment for the whole family.
The most important aspect of an arts education for a child is its integration within culture itself. Culture sets forth the foundation on which a country is built upon: its direction, pathways and values. The education of arts and culture very much emphasizes the development of character.
