Look in the mirror, what do you see? Is that you in the present, from the past or the future? You smile into the mirror and your reflection smiles back, and your past and future vanishes along with it.
Last year, The Practice Lab members dug deep within their personal experiences, setting off a series of improvisation, and revisiting their existential present in the process. That was our last performance staged in our old space, Stamford Arts Centre.
This year, The Practice Lab, led by Lab Director Liu Xiaoyi, presents a collaborative work incorporating physical theatre elements. From a rigorous year-long training with devising and discussion, comes a journey to the past and into the future. Uproot is the first Lab production to be staged in The Theatre Practice’s new premises.

Art originates from life. Theatre is like a mirror that reflects the people and happenings in life from a different perspective, encouraging us to look within ourselves and to observe the ways of others.
