Ang Xiao Ting (Director)
Ang Xiao Ting is an freelance hyphenated theatre practitioner, associate artist (The Theatre Practice) and programmer (Practice Tuckshop). Her creative practice is informed by the intersection of theatre with ‘non-aesthetic’ aspects of society to advocate for social innovation and change, such as Eco-Theatre projects (Recess Time and Poppy). Kuo Jian Hong (Set & Multimedia Designer)
Artistic Director of The Theatre Practice (Practice), award-winning theatre director, lighting and set designer, and independent filmmaker, Jian Hong has always taken on multi-faceted roles within the arts. Pushing the limits of artistic creativity and technological capabilities, her artistic vision transcends themes, genres, forms and platforms.
Angmoteh (Visualiser)
Xiang Her is a Malaysian graphic designer and illustrator. She is also the creator of her alter ego character — Angmoteh. She is passionate about creating characters that are inspired by people around her, and she endeavours to experiment the mixing of analogue and digital mediums, as well as explore diversifying colours and textures. Xiangher currently oversees the visual communications at The Theatre Practice.
FERRY (Sound Designer)
FERRY is an installation artist, musician, educator, and collaborator. Honed through a practice that spans design, music, art, education and theatre, FERRY’s edge is in the ability to synthesise ideas and practices from diverse fields, utilising different methodologies to create audience experiences that engage through multiple means.
Axel Sarik (Sound Designer）
Axel Serik, Singapore-based sound artist who has always been facinated with the intricacies in the world of textural and abstract sounds. After the experimentation of dark, post-metal music through his former bedroom project Navire Creux which lasted 11 years, we continue to witness the evolution of his existential cathartic outlets.
Lee Wai Lok (Playwright - Film)
Lee Wai Lok graduated from Chinese University of Hong Kong with a major of Philosophy and Drama School in the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts with a master degree of Playwriting.
His recent plays included The Ward of The Open Platform, Two Thieves of Reader’s Theatre by Hong Kong Repertory Theatre; Withered Womb, The Lower Depths(adaptor) by Chung Ying Theatre Company; Toasty & Friends 3D Musical, The Green Saviour by Jumbo Kids Theatre; The Taste of Salt by Arts in the Air. His work Wedding won the Excellent Creative Play in Drama Festival 2015 by Hong Kong Federation of Drama Societies.
He is now a freelance drama tutor, playwright and actor.
Sim Xin Yi (Dramaturg)
Xin is a writer, researcher and dramaturg. She is the Theatre Practice’s writer and researcher, and spearheads communications in Practice Tuckshop. Xin’s practice harnesses non-traditional storytelling forms to facilitate dialogue and exchange. Projects include participatory theatre work Round Round Buns, food X theatre experiences Recess Time and Play With… Flavours.
Ng Mun Poh (Script Translator - Film)
Mun Poh is a theatre practitioner, performer and educator. She has been in many productions such as The Bride Always Knocks Twice — Killer Secrets, Four Horse Road, Immortalx, The wee Question Mark series, Day I Met the Prince and Legends of the Southern Arch among others. As a returning participant of the international artist residency Artist Farm, Mun Poh has collaborated with artmakings from different backgrounds and practices to create works. She trained with The Theatre Practice’s Actor’s Lab. Her performance credits with Lab include The Nude, Upstream and Uproot. As strong advocate for children’s drama education, Mun Poh performed and taught in many primary and secondary schools in Singapore. Be it rehearsing, performing and teaching, she continues to explore her relationship with self and others through her work.
Zoea Tania Chen (Script Translator - Film)
Zoea Tania is a freelance writer and a creator. As a creator, she focuses on creating poetic expressions for the inarticulate and ethereal that resist translation. She relies heavily on esoteric philosophy, the cosmos, tarot and introspection as important sites of influences.
As a writer for stage and film, she has been involved in works of several mediums. She co-wrote Blank Run, a theatre piece that has toured Shanghai (ACT Shanghai International Theatre Festival 2016) and Taiwan (World Stage Design in Taipei 2017) and CA$H, a short film commissioned by “Temasek 2020 Short Film Project” that was selected for the 41st Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival (France).
Most recently, she was the writer for Prophecy (2020), a short film commissioned by ArtScience Museum (Singapore) and co-wrote a virtual theatre piece commissioned by National Arts Council (Singapore) under the Digital Presentation Grant for the Arts titled Poppy (2020).

Benedict Tan (Researcher and Resource Contributor)
Benedict is the programme coordinator at HATCH Blue. HATCH is a global venture capital company whose mission is to revolutionise the way we produce seafood through investing in development of sustainable technology in aquaculture and alternative seafood.
As programme coordinator, Benedict has designed and coordinated 6 programmes for 50 global aquatech startups to scale and develop their businesses. Benedict is a graduate from Yale-NUS College with a degree in Environmental Studies.
Fascinated by the intersection between the social sciences and aquaculture, he wrote his thesis on the changes in public perception of aquaculture in Singapore over time.
His passion for the ocean stems from diving throughout Southeast Asia, childhood visits to the coast, and that one time he went surfing.
Leslie Choo (Resource Content Writer)
As part of The Theatre Practice’s advocacy team, Leslie serves as a bridge linking artmakers to the wider society. Believing that the art we create should represent the communities we serve, Leslie works closely with parents, educators, funding bodies, community leaders and other stakeholders to increase access to the arts.
Chong Woon Yong (Performer - Jeff)
Graduated with a BA from NUS’ Theatre Studies Programme in 2011. Woon Yong is a bilingual performer and writer. He is a founding member of experimental theatre company Emergency Stairs.
As a performer, his was seen in Merdeka (W!LD RICE), Self-Portrait (Access Path Productions), Offstage 3.0 (M1 Fringe Festival 2021), Oedipus (Toy Factory Productions), FRAGO (Checkpoint Theatre), PRISM (Toy Factory Productions), GRIND (Toy Factory Productions), The Struggle: Years Later (The Theatre Practice), etc.
In 2018, he wrote and performed in the bilingual monologue G.F.E., presented by W!LD RICE’s Singapore Theatre Festival 2018.
Nola Lim (Performer - Jeff's Mom)
Lim Poey Huang (Nola Lim) is a local theatre veteran performed on stage since the 1960s with many iconic and popular theatres. Where Love Abide, Love Au Zen, Tomorrow, A Midwife’s Diary and Four Horse Road by The Theatre Practice; Red Sky by Nine Year Theatre.
Other than stage performance and teaching, Lim Poey Huang also performs on TV series and filming, also a main actress in the short film If Forest Remembered (2020) directed by Elysa Wendi.
Hang Qian Chou (Performer - Jeff's Brother)
Qian Chou has been active in Singapore theatre since 2007, when he graduated from the pioneer cohort of Wild Rice’s actors’ training programme Young & Wild. Prior to that, he’d graduated from the NUS Theatre Studies BA programme in 2005. Since then, he has also attended summer workshops at Anne Bogart’s SITI Company (Saratoga Springs, US, 2018), David Diamond’s Theatre for Living (Vancouver, Canada, 2014) & Ecole Philippe Gaulier (Paris, France, 2011).
Over the years, he has acted in numerous local theatre productions, working with most major theatre companies in Singapore. Internationally, he has performed at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Macao Arts Festival, Saratoga Springs (US) & Kuala Lumpur. At The Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards, he has been nominated ten times for Best Ensemble, winning it five times, in addition to one win & five nominations for Production of the Year.
Frances Lee (Performer - Jeff's Sister-in-law)
Frances graduated from LASALLE College of the Art’s BA Acting Programme in 2014. Since then, she has received a string of nominations for her work in theatre. She clinched the title ‘Best Newcomer of 2016’ in StyleXStyle’s annual Trailblazer Awards. She was nominated for Best Actress for her performance as Helen in Pangdemonium’s Fat Pig (2014), as well as Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Rosemary Joseph in Dick Lee’s Beauty World (2015), and in Checkpoint Theatre’s The Last Bull (2016). Other nominations include Best Ensemble for her work in Tribes (Pangdemonium) and Normal (Checkpoint Theatre).
Her international credits include Theater Nusantara’s (Jakarta) production of INTO THE WOODS where she played the Baker’s Wife to critical acclaim. On TV, she plays the role of the effervescent Madeline Chan in Season 4 of Channel 5’s KIN. Other theatre credits includes The Last Bull (Checkpoint Theatre); Broadway Beng 10th Anniversary Concert (Dream Academy); Jacques Brel is Alive and well and living in Paris (Sing!Theatre); Liao Zhai Rocks (The Theatre Practice) and many more.

XL (Ensemble)
Xia Lin is currently a student in NAFA English Theatre programme. She is a highly-energetic and collaborative team player who takes pride in being punctual and dependable. She has four years of professional experience in stage acting and has done voiceover on stage and in commercials. During her time in NAFA, her acting credits include: Absent Friends (Alan Ayckbourn, 2017), Fairy Godfather (Singapore Play, 2017), High Class (Local Play, 2018), The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time (Simon Stephens, 2018), Sisterhood (Autobiography Solo Performance, 2019), and Ashes, Ashes (Toyfactory x NAFA Production, 2020).
She is also a part-time drama teacher in a kindergarten, and an individual who actively participates in various art forms including Film and Media, and she has also participated in singing competitions. Her awards and achievements include: Youth Got Talent competition (1st runner-up) and I Miss You – NAFA Film & Media.
