Nini in Changi Village

In the 1960’s, Nini lived with her family in one of the shophouses in Changi Village, with her friends and many adorable animals. In the eyes of young Nini, the simple kampong life was a wondrous paradise filled with magical adventures and surprises. As she grew up, the Changi Village she loved eventually gave way to modernity and development, but memories of that place, like seeds, had been sown in her heart.

Nini in Changi Village is a wonderful theatrical adaptation based on the autobiographical comic of the same name that was created by local cartoonist, Fanny Lai. Using elements of puppetry, the world of Changi Village comes to life through the Nini’s eyes. Through Nini’s journey, children embark on a tour about local heritage, love and loss.
